CURRENTLY IN CARE
The cats below are currently in care at our Melbourne HQ and will be looking for new homes soon!

Luna
Microchip no.: 991003001378657
D.O.B.: 11/06/2019
Luna is an adorable 7 year old Sphynx x Devon Rex girl who we have just welcomed into our care.
She has had a general health check & vaccination and is doing well, though will require a dental before she can look for a new home.

Celeste
Microchip no.: 991003001889324
D.O.B.: 20/04/2022
Celeste came into care very recently and is still feeling quite overwhelmed, so we're giving her plenty of time and space to settle in at her own pace. (Please excuse the photo through the window - she's still nervous about having people in her space.)
As Celeste is still adjusting, we haven't yet been able to take her in for her vaccination and full health check. However, we've already noticed what appears to be a painful corneal sequestrum affecting her left eye. Unfortunately, this condition will likely require specialist surgery with a veterinary ophthalmologist, at an estimated cost of around $3,500.
We're spending as much quiet time with Celeste as possible, simply sitting in the room with her and allowing her to become comfortable with our presence. Once she's feeling a little more confident, we'll hopefully be able to start administering lubricating eye drops. Not only should this help ease some of her discomfort, but it will also help prepare her for the regular eye drop treatments she'll need during her recovery if surgery is required.
For now, our focus is helping Celeste feel safe, secure, and loved while we work out the best plan for her ongoing care.

Harvey
Microchip no.: 990000001668533
D.O.B.: 16/09/2019
Harvey is a gorgeous boy who loves attention and cuddles.
He has had a general health check & vaccination and is well - though he currently has infected anal glands we are treating and will need a dental if possible before he can go to a new home.
Harvey has also had a heart scan with a cardiologist, which showed that some of his heart is a little bit thick. This could possibly be a very early sign of HCM or it could (hopefully) just be normal for him - though a follow up scan is recommended in about a year just to be safe. If he is found to have HCM he will require monitoring and possibly medication for the rest of his life.

Stanley Tucci
Microchip no.: 953010001748237
D.O.B.: 23/04/2017
Stanley is a very sweet 9 year old boy that has come into our care recently. He loves attention and cuddles with humans.
Unfortunately he is spending his time in quarantine as he currently has an active tritrichomonas infection and is being treated. This isn't his first rodeo and he has received treatment before, but tritrichomonas is a very stubborn parasite!
Cats may shed small amounts of the parasite for the rest of their lives, or sometimes the infection can cause damage to the intestines which will lead to intermittent diarrhoea/IBD symptoms even if the parasite is resolved.
Even though it is very difficult, our goal is to treat him and fully eradicate the tritrichomonas (though there are no guarantees!). Treatment involves following strict hygiene protocols and medication (possibly multiple rounds of it) then PCR testing (also multiple over a period of time) after treatment to make sure the parasite is gone and doesn't reoccur.
We are also giving him lots of probiotics and supplements to help his digestive system recover. We hope to do what we can to get him to clinical remission if at all possible.
Stanley would benefit from a Melbourne based foster carer with no other cats (tritrichomonas is highly infectious) that can help him through his treatment - if this could be you please reach out! Once his tummy is stable again he will be looking for a new home where he gets to spend lots of time with his humans.

Maui
Microchip no.: 972274001418885
D.O.B.: 21/02/2022
Maui is a big blue male sphynx who into care recently with 3 other cats.
He has had a general health check and vaccination and is doing well. Maui has also had a scan with a cardiologist and there are no concerns with his heart at this point.
Maui needs a dental procedure before he can look for a new home.

Freya
Microchip no.: 953010004541094
D.O.B.: 23/02/2020
Freya is pretty bambino girl who came into care recently with 3 other cats.
She has had a health check and vaccination though requires a dental before she can look for her forever home.
Freya has also had a heart scan with a cardiologist, which showed that some of her heart is a little bit thick. This could possibly be a very early sign of HCM or it could (hopefully) just be normal for her - though a follow up scan is recommended in about a year just to be safe. If she is found to have HCM she will require monitoring and possibly medication for the rest of her life.
As soon as we have the funds to complete Freya's dental she will be ready to look for a new home!

Peggy Ham-cat
Microchip no.: 991003000273455
D.O.B.: 15/09/2019
Miss Ham-cat is a nearly 7 year old white sphynx girl with piercing green eyes.
She has had a general health check up and vaccination, and is well other than a stubborn skin condition we are currently treating.. once this is all healed up she will be looking for a new forever home.
She has also had most of her teeth removed - so she does pull some weird faces and has some indentations on her top lip from where her bottom teeth often poke out, this causes her no pain but it is worth keeping an eye on just in case.
Peggy Ham-Cat has seen a cardiologist and there are no concerns about her heart at this stage. She is currently booked in for a skin biopsy and deep clean of her hears with a veterinary dermatologist in July - hopefully this can finally give us answers about what is going on with her skin and we can get her ready for her new home.

Gizmo
Microchip no.: 956000013090221
D.O.B.: 05/01/2021
Gizmo is a cheeky 5 year old boy who often sits up on two legs looking like a kangaroo!
Gizmo has some food intolerances that can cause him to get extremely itchy, but so far he has been doing really well in care.
Gizmo has been diagnosed with HCM and will need regular check ups for his heart and in the future will require medication. He also needs a dental procedure before he can look for a new home.

Pickles
Microchip no.: 956000009437363
D.O.B.: 16/12/2017
Pickles is a lovely lady that has recently come into care. She is a bit of a complicated case and has a few health concerns we are addressing before she can hopefully find a new home.
Since coming into our care Pickles has had surgery to remove two masses that were growing on her body, each one turned out to be a different tumour (thankfully they were fully removed in the surgery). We have also learned that Pickles is in the early stages of HCM - she does not currently need medication for this but will need another heart scan in a year for monitoring.
We are now trying to see if we can help Pickles' eyes as they are cloudy and she constantly has eye discharge. We have ruled out all kinds of infections and have discovered she suffers form dry eye which is actually an autoimmune condition - she is now on special eyedrops for this. She may still go to see an ophthalmologist for a proper assessment of her eyes.
Pickles does not have the best teeth but this is a low priority as due to her heart condition, we do not want to put her body under stress with surgeries if we can help it.
Pickles is a very loving girl and we will do our best to get her the help she needs.

Covi
Microchip no.: 956000011778538
D.O.B.: 26/11/2020
Covi is a very affectionate ginger boy who loves cuddles on the couch. He is not a huge fan of young children or other animals - he wants all the attention for himself.
We have taken him for a vaccination and general health check and he is doing well, though he does have sensitive skin and can be prone to allergic reactions. Covi has finally had his dental procedure including a few teeth removed, we are just trying to get on top of his sensitivities before looking for a forever home for him.
Covi has also had a heart scan with a cardiologist, which showed that some of his heart is a little bit thick. This could possibly be a very early sign of HCM or it could (hopefully) just be normal for him - though a follow up scan is recommended in about a year just to be safe. If he is found to have HCM he will require monitoring and possibly medication for the rest of his life.
We hope Covi will be listed as available soon!

Daisy
Microchip no.: 953010004043257
D.O.B.: 01/09/2019
Daisy is a little sweet girl who loves cuddles on the couch.
She is not a fan of babies & small children or dogs, she has quietly tolerated other cats but would likely prefer to be on her own.
Daisy had a general health check up when she came into care and had no obvious issues, but unfortunately has had a few medical episodes since then that we are trying to get to the bottom of - but she is a bit of a medical mystery! Every now and then Daisy will not be able to regulate her own body temperature and will seem to be in some pain and we are not sure why, but we are investigating and managing it as best we can. Hopefully we can find some answers so that she can then go on to find a new forever home!
Daisy is also being retrained to use her litter correctly as she occasionally likes to poop outside of it.
